Linux #80
Comments
Launcher, being a Windows app, searches for Steam within Windows context, that is inside Wine prefix, so to go get it to work you'd have to install Windows verison of Steam in Wine predix |
For 10.0.0 however I'm planning to make Linux native version of the launcher with Proton integration |
I think it would be easier just to add a steamless option to the launcher. I think it will be less effort for you and most people already use bottles/lutris to run non-steam games so it won't be harder for them. |
The thing is, game is made with Steam in mind and won't work without it (or Epic Games) |
By “or Epic Games”, do you mean I can use Epic games in place of Steam? I tried running a Windows version of Steam in the wine prefix. It recognized it, but I needed to log in, and Steam wasn’t able to go online to update |
You can if you own the game there, otherwise it'll just fail to start |
hello, being under linux i tried to make it work with wine it was a success the launcher launches but when i click on play i'm asked to launch steam out i have steam under linux with my account but it doesn't seem to detect it. is there a way to make it detect?
