Balance

  • Frontline Tactics rank 2 now nullifies enchant damage on a successful timed block.
    • Previously it reduced it by 50% since it counted as "spell damage", but I figured it was fine to make it reduce enchant damage by 99.99% specifically.
  • NPCs will spam sprint power attacks less now.
  • Receiving a melee hit while casting now slows cast speed by 25% for 5 seconds. This always applies to NPCs and applies to the player on Expert+ difficulties.
  • Giant Stomps now apply minor bleeding damage.
  • Giants are now able to regenerate their Health in combat.
  • Dragons now deal poise damage and apply minor bleeding in a small area around where they land.
  • Reduced Distortion's dodge distance by 10%.
  • Cutthroat (Security) now allows you to gain experience from picking locks and pockets.
  • Silver Tongue (Speech) now allows you to gain experience from successfully passing persuasion and intimidation checks.
  • Silver Tongue (Speech) now requires 20 Speech. (was 30)
  • Doom Winds (Two-Handed) now has a cooldown of 15 seconds. (was 30)
  • Reduced the amount of gold merchants have baseline.
    • There was no specific logic to this, so I can not give you a specific % change.
    • This should make investment into speech perks feel better.
  • Blacksmiths can now temper your gear for you.
  • Court Wizards can now recharge your enchanted equipment for you.
  • Elemental Fury's additional Elemental damage now works similar to Chaos Damage enchants.
    • 50% Chance to proc on every hit.

  • Sabre Cats, Wolves, and Bears now have a chance to apply bleeds on their attacks.
    • These bleeds are resisted by Armor Rating and Disease Resistance.
  • Low Stamina debuff will now only apply in combat or while sneaking.
  • Cultist of Malacath now increases Power Attack cost by 50%, instead of reducing all non-power attack damage by 50%.
  • Lord Stone's effectiveness is now increased by 50% on Power Attacks. (was 100%)
  • Rally (Lord Stone) and Battlemage (Class) are now 25% less effective while dual wielding.
  • Atronach Stone's Magicka absorption effect now only triggers while you are below half Magicka.
  • Hero (Class) now reduces incoming stagger by 20%. (was 25%)
  • Shadow Stone reworked.
    • NEW: You move 20% faster, and performing a dodge marks nearby enemies for 3 seconds. Melee attacks against marked enemies restore Stamina. However, your blocking and bashing are 50% less effective.
    • OLD: You move 20% faster, and have a chance to become intangible during incoming melee attacks. However, your blocking and bashing are 50% less effective.
  • Reworked Imposing Presence (Heavy Armor capstone).
    • NEW: Nearby enemies deal 20% less damage and take 25% more damage while you are wearing a Heavy Armor chest piece.
    • OLD: You reduce the damage of nearby enemies by 20% and when you fall below half Health you absorb Health from nearby enemies while wearing a Heavy Armor chest piece.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed some visual shader bugs with DirtCliff meshes.
  • Fixed visual issue where some spider webs appeared very bright in exteriors.
  • Fixed NPC Name Distributor bug in Saints and Seducers Extended Cut.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Distortion (Alteration) dodge to not actually trigger the correct animations.
  • Fixed some annotation issues on Beast Race Mace moveset (NPCs).
  • Fixed a bug where legendary's incoming damage modifier was still x4.0 instead of x2.0.
  • Fixed a bug where Atronach Stone was reducing the effectiveness of Magicka potions by 25% rather than 50%.
  • Fixed a bug where the random spell cost reduction from the Apprentice Stone was not applying.
  • Made it so that you can no longer be abducted by the Dark Brotherhood when attempting to start the vanilla intro.
  • More fixes for Wolf Stance Sword and Shield animation. (pray for ylik being a brave soldier and suffering through this one)
  • "Fixed" an issue with the clarity of the message on the Battlemage Class selection.
  • Fixed an issue where spell timed block was unreliable at certain angle checks.
  • Fixed an issue where the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller was positioned oddly on your character when wearing a satchel.
    • This fix can be applied to existing save games by re-importing the default IED config.

Misc. Changes

  • Clarified the tooltip on Arcane Awakening.
  • Changed the freeze time keybind in PhotoMode from F to Y.
  • Removed SMP Bones from the chest area of Hedge Witch armor because it caused some wonky physics and clipping.
  • Adjusted the fire trail on Eltonbrand.

Key Info

  • Save-Safe if you follow the instructions BEFORE updating the list!
    1. Deactivate DynDOLOD from the DynDOLOD MCM. Wait for the deactivation message.
    2. Go into an interior (e.g., Heimskr's House).
    3. Wait 24 in-game hours.
    4. Save and exit the game.
    5. Update the list as normal, DynDOLOD should reinitialize itself when you re-enter the exterior worldspace.
  • Not Save-Safe if you fail to follow the above directions.
    • When loading into your 2.0 save, it will tell you that this update is savegame incompatible. You can ignore this if you properly followed the instructions above.
  • Fixed several animation related bugs and improved sprinting power attack functionality.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue with Power Attack 5 for Sword + Shield Wolf Stance moveset (3rd person).
  • Added missing AMR data to Power Attack 5 for Sword + Shield Wolf Stance moveset (3rd person).
  • Adjusted sprint power attacks so that the hitframes were no longer instantaneous.
  • Fixed speed multipliers being incorrectly applied on sprint power attacks.
  • Adjusted, or otherwise added if it was missing, AMR data on several sprint power attacks.
  • Removed some parallaxgen files which were erroneously overriding mods that had better baseline complex material settings.
  • Fixed an issue where you could perform projectile timed blocks without the prerequisite perks.
  • Fixed issue where Winterhold Spire was missing lod.
  • Fixed a typo in the name of a placeholder plugin.
    • This will result in a missing plugin warning which can be safely ignored.
  • Potentially fixed an issue where certain controller perks and abilities were lost after updating on an existing save-game.
    • This is not a retroactive fix if your save already lost these. Everyone should thank Ylik for spending an hour troubleshooting potential solutions to make the fix both retroactive and automated.
  • Fixed a random crash that could occur on cell transitions.
  • Adjusted some floating clutter in Morthal.
  • Fixed tooltip issue with Shadow Stone where interacting with the stone still displayed the previous debuff.
  • Should have fixed an issue where some quests that were intended to give perk points were not giving the points.
    • This fix is not retroactive.

Misc. Changes

  • Removed erroneous SkyrimSouls config from the Apostasy - Controller Configuration mod.
  • Replaced most vanilla Farm Clothes with new models.
  • Removed Katana's rifle and dialogue about guns, thanks Anna.
    • If you have already met Katana, this change will not apply unless you use the resetinventory console command on her.
  • Removed Feris' dialogue that referenced Standing Stones being once a day powers.

    • Lord Stone changed.
      • Rally now increases your Health Regeneration by 100%. (was 50% Health Recovery).
    • Shadow Stone buffed.
      • Phase Shift now reduces your blocking and bashing effectiveness by 50%. (was -150 Armor / -25% Magic Resist).
    • Tower Stone nerfed.
      • Warden's Wall now reduces incoming poise damage by 20% (was 50%).
  • Battlemage's Magicka Battery now works on bashes in addition to melee attacks.
  • Lowered Hoods can not be enchanted anymore due to slot conflicts.

Balance

  • Marksman (Archery), Pugilist (Hand to Hand), Skirmisher (One-Handed), and Champion (Two-Handed) now give a flat damage bonus instead of a stacking damage bonus.
    • These perks ended up being relatively weak compared to other perks and were frankly overcomplicated for "Mastery" perks.
  • Changes to most perk trees to improve the flow between perks.
    • Too many changes, I do not feel like listing them all.
    • 1H, 2H, H2H, Archery, Heavy Armor, Light Armor, Block, and Speech were the main trees that were affected.
  • Power attacks now increase Critical Chance rather than Critical Damage (it's a multiplicative buff, so if you have 0% crit strike chance, you will still have 0% crit strike chance when power attacking).
  • General improvements to most capstone perks, especially the ones I believed were underwhelming.
  • Reduced cost of Sprinting with a Horse.
  • Added a background perk that increases the chance to recover arrows as you improve your Archery skill.
  • Changed the way in which Low Stamina penalties are applied. Penalties for low Stamina now last for 10 seconds or until an actor replenishes 50% of their Stamina.
    • Low Stamina penalties include:
      • 25% less damage done (does not affect magic).
      • 25% slower movement.
      • 50% less Poise damage done.
      • 50% less effective at blocking.
  • Reduced the Low Stamina Movement Speed penalty to 10% for the player (was 25%).
  • Buffed base strength of Grievous Wounds and Mortal Wounds by ~20-25%.
  • Adjusted the Health on Vulom (Wyrmstooth).
  • Removed Renewal heal from Vulom (Wyrmstooth).
  • Adjusted level scaling of the weakest enemy spawns.
    • This will result in you fighting lower level enemies on average due to the way Skyrim populates dungeons.
  • Buffed strength of Yngol and Ahzidal unique armor sets.
  • Increased the difficulty of lockpicking because I want people to use Security.
  • Dungeon Master (Security) now adds more useful items to chests rather than useless items that net you more gold.
    • This includes 8 possible unique item drops.
  • Dragon Priest Balancing. While I would like Dragon Priest to remain a challenge (read: a gear/build check), I feel their current implementation was a little too oppressive and created unfun gameplay loops.
    • Removed 25% Magic Resistance passive from Dragon Priests.
    • Reduced the 25% Resistance to Opportunity Attacks to 20%.
    • Dragon Priests now have a resistance to Illusion spells.
      • A level 50 Dragon Priest will require a level 75 Illusion spell to be affected (currently this can be acheived with a dual cast Adept spell if you are perked into Illusion).
    • Removed the Deep Freeze, Wildfire, Power Surge, and Scourge Perks from Dragon Priests (excluding Miraak).
      • A lot of these perks meant that you would just immediately die the moment you fell under 50% HP, and I felt this wasn't very intuitive and produced bad gameplay.
    • Blizzard now costs 3.0x Magicka for Dragon Priests (affects Morokei, Dukaan, and Krosis).
      • This should hopefully reduce the Blizzard spam that these enemies do.
    • Healing spells are 33% less effective for Dragon Priests.
  • Reduced the speed of Hawk Stance Greatsword by ~5-10%. (3rd person)
  • Reduced the speed of Wolf Stance Sword + Shield by ~5-10%. (3rd person)
    • Improved chaining of the stance.
  • Nerfed the damage Archers deal.
  • Reduced the chances of enemies spawning with DaiKatanas, Katanas, and Spears by a slight amount at lower levels.
  • Removed one archer NPC from the last room of White River Watch.
  • Changed the level scaling of two archer NPCs outside of Bleak Falls Barrow.
  • Tweaked degradation rates.
  • Reduced the number of Harvestable plants in some cities.
  • Reduced some Silver Hand enemy spawns in Dustman's Cairn.
  • Removed a shortcut in Dustman's Cairn.
  • Slightly increased cost of carriages.
  • Reduced enemy spawns at Fort Greymoor.
  • Reduced enemy spawns at Silent Moons Camp. (Removed Ambush Spawns)
  • Doubled Elemental Fury's base cooldown.
  • Frost spells now slow by 10%/25% instead of 25%/50% based on Stamina.

  • Fixed placement of Natura Vendor in Falkreath.
  • Fixed Commentary trigger for Khajiit Will Follow in Falkreath.
  • Cleaned up yellow mountain flowers that were clipping in some major cities.
  • Fixed Pugilist's (Hand to Hand) tooltip erroneously referring to "weapon damage" instead of "unarmed damage".
  • Adjusted landscape in the following cells:
    • -30,10
    • -23,18
    • -4,3 and -4,2
  • Fixed issue with Missives quest that was looking for the wrong type of Salmon.
  • Fixed issue where Overdose (Alchemy) was not applying to nearby enemies as intended.
  • Fixed issue where taking Mirele Bismath teleporter to Winterhold put you into the side of a building.
  • Fixed issue where Wyrmstooth's final boss was being renamed erroneously.

Balance

  • Infernal Armor (Heavy Armor) now has diminishing returns >500 Armor Rating. This means the maximum spell damage resistance granted by Infernal Armor is 40% (was 50%).
    • NEW: Incoming spell damage is reduced by up to 40% based on Armor Rating while wearing a heavy armor chest piece.
    • OLD: Incoming spell damage is reduced by 0.05% per point of Armor Rating while wearing a heavy armor chest piece.
  • Spears now do less damage. Their movesets were very fast for both the player and NPCs and they seemed to outclass some other 2H weapons by a decent margin in pure DPS.

    • Broke weapons into 5 tiers (based on Smithing perks) the same way Armor had been done since 1.0.
    • This is a minor shakeup to balance, the main place this will be noticeable is the change to Orcish and Dwarven tiering because Vanilla made Orcish/Dwarven Weapons and Armors reversed in their progression (Orcish Armor was stronger but Weapons were weaker than Dwarven equivalents).
  • Tweaked Boss Human Battleaxe and Warhammer animations.

    • Now a 2 rank perk unlocked at 60/90 skill. (was a 1 rank perk unlocked at 90 skill).
    • NEW: Attacks with a One-Handed weapon deal additional damage / and can proc additional effects based on the damage-dealing spell in your off-hand.
    • OLD: Attacks with a One-Handed weapon deal additional damage based on the damage-dealing spell in your off-hand.
    • People really liked the concept of the perk but it was locked behind a high level gate. While giving this 2 ranks slightly throws off the balance established with Dual Wield and One-and-None, I think it's fine cause the perk is cool.
    • Also added an ICD to Catalyst so it couldn't double proc off of double hit power attacks as it felt unbalanced.
  • Minor changes to Overwhelming Rage (One-Handed).
    • NEW: While dual wielding, consecutive attacks against the same target deal up to 50% more damage.
    • OLD: While dual wielding in combat, attacks with One-Handed weapons build up rage, increasing your damage by 5% for 30 seconds, stacking up to 50%.
    • Main change here is that it is now per target rather than a global damage boost.
  • Tweaked BlockHit knockback.
  • Fed buffs now grant Poise Resistance. (was Experience%)

  • Fixed issue where having more than 100 base Magicka or Stamina would cause reverting out of Werewolf Form to make you have absurdly low Magicka.
    • This also came with the removal of Growl's Magicka to Stamina transfer when entering Werewolf form. Sorry this is a bug with the original mod that there was no solution to besides "lightening script load" when this didn't seem to be an issue.
    • I am not confident if this fix will work on an existing save game.
  • Unarmed now properly scales with the Hand to Hand skill.
    • This change may not take effect on existing saves due to a way the game handles updating Abilities mid-game.
    • I have added in a failsafe that should make it work though.

Misc. Changes

  • Disabled Auto-Potion system (Health potions can still be quick accessed with the F key).
  • Swapped SmoothCam shoulder Toggle to M5 since it was conflicting with the Crouch bind (C).
  • Added a temporary subsurface scattering "fix" until Bingus and I have time to adjust ENB SSS more.
  • Swapped Precision trail mesh to make Ylik happy.
