Start menu won't open when retrobar is enabled

For some background information I'm running both retrobar and openshell on windows 10.

Whenever I try to click the start button nothing happens, if retrobar is enabled. However, when im not using retrobar, the openshell start menu opens and works perfectly fine. The default windows start menu also opens fine on both, but never the openshell start menu. Any guesses on what might be going on?
