Issue with LiftMaster 98022 MC

The builder of the house installed LiftMaster 98022 MC. When I tried to connect OpenGarage 2.3+ on it, auto detect didn't detect security 2.0, and no matter whether I choose no security, 1.0, or 2.0, it cannot control the controller to open the garage.

Not sure if this is "security 3.0", or I did something wrong.

Given that this GDO has a yellow learn button, it's most likely a Security+ 2.0. You should double check your wiring, especially the wire contacts on OpenGarage: red to the screw pad marked RD/PK(CTRL), white to WH/GN (GND). Make sure each wire has enough exposed copper and the screw is tight so there is good contact between the wire and the PCB pad. You can post a photo of the back of your OpenGarage unit so we can help you check.

I tried both with the top pins connected to the black/white connector on the RDO, and without top pins. neither works.

First of all, on OpenGarage for door action you must use the bottom set of pins, as I said, RD/PK(CTRL) and WH/GN (GND). The top set is for sensors (optional, most people don't use them).

Second, can you clarify black/white connector on the RDO? The button wires are clearly the Red and White terminal holes. The Black/White pair is almost certainly for safety sensor, NOT for door control.

it's the bottom pins (RD/PK and WH/GR) to red and white connectors on the gdo, and top pins to the black and white connectors on the gdo (and also tried without top pins)

OK, thanks for the clarification. Earlier you said "auto detect didn't detect security 2.0" -- but what did it detect? Did it say 1.0 or None?

Honestly the symptom is most consistent with wiring issue -- it could be contact (with the OpenGarage pad) issue, could even be a broken wire. If you suspect the board has a hardware issue, you can submit a support ticket at:
