OpenDJ server starting but throwing a ClassCastException - need to resolve?

My OpenDJ server is starting, but throwing a java exception on start-up. I'm wondering how to resolve this, if needed:

Thanks for the help so far. Maybe some more info will help -

1. I'm migrating an old version of opendj version 3.0.0.12657 to 4.6.2.1 and I want to maintain everything in it
2. I followed the steps in the installation "Move Servers" guide to first move everything over in the old directory to the new vm
   -At this point, if I started the server on the new vm, it would throw a ton of java exceptions and fail to start, so I decided to upgrade.
3. Then I followed the steps in the upgrade guide, including changing the default.java-home setting to point to jdk 17.
4. Upgrade script ran fine, I accepted defaults:

5. Then I started the server and got the following exception:
