Would be great if sshfs could be implemented and the public keys stored could be used for the purpose.

I don't know if things are still the same but I worked on adding it to the remoteshare plugin a long time ago _ https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php?thread/13493-remoteshare-plugin-and-sshfs/&postID=110838#post110838

I will have to look at it again when I have a chance.
