[Bug]: Edit Menu Button Delayed Activation

Description

When you open the Edit Menu on a subject card, the Edit button doesn’t respond immediately. There's a 2–3 second delay before it becomes clickable. This makes the app feel slow or unresponsive.

What Needs to Be Fixed

Investigate why there's a delay in activating the Edit button after the menu opens.

Possible reasons:
Heavy rendering or re-renders
Focus issues or animations blocking clicks
pointer-events: none applied temporarily

Fix the delay so the Edit button is instantly clickable once the menu is open.
