Failed To Save Results

Failed to save results. I believe this is happening because the upload is showing that I have a 20 Gig lan connection which is false. looks like that decimal point is in the wrong place.

But then on the network-optimizer page is shows that it saved.

Is that test from the same device that's hosting the Optimizer and Speed Test apps?

Looks to be compression in play or HTTP 2.x+. How do you have everything installed? Any reverse proxies in the mix?

Is that screenshot from Safari on the Mac?

Also was the 2193 / 1946 test a web based test and did it report that it saved the result successfully from the test?

I have everything in docker on a server. Testing from my Mac to the server. The failed to save results was done on a Chromium based browser Helium. It is sitting behind traefik.

Alright, it's making more sense now.

You're going to need to fall back to HTTP 1.1 on Traefik for the speed test. Most importantly on the client connection side, not the origin.

Still saying failed to save, but it's still showing up on the network-optimizer page.

The rates seem reasonable now.

• Any CORS errors in the browser dev tool console?
• Does it work on other browsers, mobile devices, or does each give the status error.
• The saving status is new, and could be benign, but to fix it, I'll need more info on what the browser is blowing up on

What's interesting is it's working still. Is your Traefik instance in front of the Optimizer app passing through CORS headers?

Your env config should look like this:

OPENSPEEDTEST_HOST=speedtest.jrtek.home
OPENSPEEDTEST_HTTPS=true
OPENSPEEDTEST_HTTPS_PORT=4443

The easiest way to confirm it's configured correctly is the link/text field on Client Speed Test -> Browser Speed Test will be correct and match your full desired speed test URL w/ the 4443 port as well.

If that's correct, then it may be that Traefik is stripping CORS headers on the response or messing w/ the pre-flight OPTIONS response.

edit: I just re-tested this locally and it works fine with my Caddy reverse proxy - meaning the CORS logic on the app itself is fine - so it may just be your Traefik config

edit2: must be the CORS pre-flight OPTIONS call is working fine but Traefik is stripping the CORS response header from the API call that saves the result. That's why the result saves, but you get the error. Access-Control-Allow-Origin is the header that needs to be preserved on POST responses.
