[FEATURE-REQ] Chat bubbles

I am using GrapheneOS, with the stock Messaging app (mostly the AOSP app, with modernized dependencies).
One feature I really like is the ability to use chat bubbles (and this is the only reason I still use their app, the UI is really dated otherwise), which was implemented at the same time as conversations notifications.
In fact, I was using QUIK before but went back to GrapheneOS app when they implemented bubbles.

I would like to have chat bubbles on this app.

This is a feature that would clearly contradict the "essential only" philosophy of the app. I recently switched to this app just because of this promise. Please don't start bloating

I was thinking to ship this but disable by default, to follow the app ideas?

But this feature would take additional space inside the app, wouldn't it? So I'd still say it might be convenient, but completely redundant...and bloating.
