This is great news, I want to help and I can contribute with features/bug fixes. Are you able to take incoming PR's or do you have any rules around contributing? |

Hi,Ned. I could understan the struggle between reality and persuit. As I see, focusing on a special area, it is not so easy to attract more users from github, since github is a place more for coders but not engineers, most of them rely on mature commercial software even many like using cracked copyright ones. The reason is custom-dependent. To calling for more support, the best way is to add an entry on the menu of the GUI, even some popup verytime uses launch it.Another posibble way is allowing for fash ads banners. Hopefully I will apply for some research funds to do my work, then I could find some way to support Calcpad in another way. I hope that's not far in the future. Best wishes for Calcpad and regards for you, the creator of this phantastic software. |

Will supporters get only new release builds or also updated source-code? Hopefully, enough people will support you to make the updated Calcpad free and open-source for everyone again. |

Ned, this seems like a great compromise for the entire community. I am curious how this will work for people who want to contribute to the repo though. There is already talk of a community edition which will incorporate updated features, so it seems like this could produce a split in the software. Would you be open to having other people contribute to these emailed updates so we can keep the software centralized? |

Hi Ned good to see you again. This should now be a community based developement and not just on one shoulders. I am bit new to objecte oriented programming but have good grasp on C and other languages. I tried to go through the source code but got confused a little. Maybe you can post a guide on navigating through code structure and tips to get started in c# and wpf. |

Hello @Proektsoftbg , it's been a long time! Unfortunately, I had to step away for a while due to some projects I've been working on. I'm sure the last few months have been quite difficult—I’ve been receiving a flood of emails from GitHub about Calcpad, and that must be overwhelming for you. Calcpad is my go-to tool for everything, both in the classes I teach and in my calculation notes, and yes, I admit that I need to get back to contributing. The number of new features people have been requesting has been quite high, as well as the support demand. One suggestion I’d like to offer is this: make a list and estimate the hours required to implement each new feature. That way, everyone knows how much it will cost to implement a particular function. Then, put it to a vote so that we can choose what comes first. This will bring transparency to the process, and you will receive the compensation you deserve for your work. Regarding support, we could have a forum like https://talk.tiddlywiki.org/, where users constantly help each other. I rarely see the developer getting involved, except in cases of bugs, which are usually confirmed by moderators first. Decentralize, or you'll end up overwhelmed. Best regards! |

@imartincei Slider Example' ' Value: 50 ' ' <script> ' var slider = document.getElementById("mySlider"); ' var output = document.getElementById("sliderValue"); ' slider.oninput = function() { ' output.innerHTML = this.value; ' } ' </script> ' ' I tried a slider bar but the value of 50 does not change but there is another number on the bar that does change. |

Hi!
I decided to re-activate this repo to have a place where all Calcpad users can connect and discuss. But now I will set some rules. (We needed such long time ago) I will not have much time to participate, so I would be happy to see the community really supporting each other and helping newcomers. I will be able to support only $5+ project sponsors.
I will start working on new features only if and when the project collects enough supporters to reach the goal. I finished my PhD and I need to go back to job. I am very happy to work on Calcpad but just cannot afford it. Like most people, I also have to make my living. Until then, I can only make small improvements and bug fixes. I will not update this repo. Only $10+ sponsors and Proektsoft's clients will receive updates by email. At least for some time. I think that this is a better option than just quitting.
But the greatest support that the community can provide to Calcpad is to help making it more popular and bring more users and supporters. Lets give engineers another chance to have a high quality and yet free and open source calculation software in a long term sustainable way.
