Video Compare #1320
Comments
The video playback relies on the built-in system video player. It won't work for all codecs. What video codecs are the source and output using? (mp4 and mkv are the container). |
The output is h265 hevc_nvenc and the input is av1. |
It's usually pretty good about playing H.264 but H.265 and AV1 are more hit or miss. It just depends on what that version of Windows supports natively for media playback. |
iam on windows 11 23h2 (latest version) but i removed the metro media player and disabled classic windows media player |
Wait, what do you mean "removed the metro media player"? |
Windows 11 bundles its own media player that uses modern windows api ? These apps were named metro apps. The app in question is groove music and its now called media player |
If you've just uninstalled some apps, that probably shouldn't hurt it. I'd check to see if H.264 works. If it does, it's likely just missing codec support in the built-in component. |
Problem Description
Video Compare doesn't really play any video (source and output).
source is mp4
output is mkv
Does video compare require any special configuration ? Iam using the portable build
Note 1: I switched installer and same behavior as above is happening
What version of VidCoder are you running?
11.7 beta
