At the moment the only template we have is the default one, sure we can customize it with css but it would be nice to have more default templates to choose from

Yeah this is definitely on the roadmap.

Do you have any other CV template styles you would recommend for reference?

It's hard to give specific examples because I'm not sure what the limitations of markdown is when building a template.

For example, is splitting the template in different columns supported? I know pictures arent supproted yet. What is or isnt supported generally speaking?

I can offer examples from the web for reference.
