Readline Extensibility

this is a discussion to hold ideas about ways for the readline library in use to be more extensible from the lua side of hilbish.

one thing i could think of is allowing people to set the "hint text" at the bottom of the prompt line. another would be allowing individual handling of input and deciding whether to forward that to readline as input or not.

this could allow for some creative things
