It seems the issue is with AGP. I created the project in canary version of Android studio Giraffe | 2022.3.1 and the AGP was 8.1.0-alpha10. Now decreasing it to 8.0.2 may do the job. This can run properly on Android studio Flamingo | 2022.2.1.

Feel free to reply if issue still persists. This issue can be closed.

I upgraded the agp. Project is running, but UPI payment is failing as it cannot be completed for security reasons

I recently started facing the security issue in some platform. However it works in BHIM. I have updated the README file.
I shall check that issue once I get time.
