How to map without address objects in SF CRM

First of all thank you all for this great contribution and the extensive documentation. Much appreciated.

In the text towards the end it states:
Note: The B2C_CustomerAddress__x object is only used while using the Salesforce Connect integration for the Address Book. If you are using the custom flow/LWC to render the address book within the core platform, it uses the same configuration mapping, but there is no real record created within the core platform.

In our situation, we have PersonAccounts with a billing and shipping address as part of that account and not in separate objects. The above suggests that mapping the addresses from SFCC to SF CRM is still possible in this scenario, but it is not clear to me how this mapping is established? How would it know which address object in SFCC to map to the billing fields in SF CRM and which to the shipping fields.

Any clarification of this is much appreciated.
