Recruiting external miners - RTC rewards now auto-enroll on attestation #43
Description
We Need Real Miners
RustChain currently has 8 miners — all on a single LAN. We had one external miner (silveredge-agent-01, Bay City, Michigan) who ran for 3 days with 475 valid attestations but earned 0 RTC due to an enrollment bug that's now fixed (commit 8d02953).
What Changed
Previously, miners had to:
POST /attest/submit— prove their hardware is realPOST /epoch/enroll— separately enroll for rewards each epoch
Most miner scripts only did step 1. Now attestation automatically enrolls miners for rewards. No extra steps needed — just run the miner and earn.

What We're Looking For
- Any real hardware — laptops, desktops, servers, Raspberry Pis, vintage machines
- Vintage/retro hardware gets bonus multipliers — got a PowerPC Mac, old Pentium, or SPARC? Even better
- VMs are detected and earn ~1 billionth of real hardware — this is Proof of Antiquity, not Proof of VMs
- No GPU required — CPU attestation only
How to Mine

- Detect your hardware automatically
- Run 6 fingerprint checks (clock drift, cache timing, SIMD, thermal, jitter, anti-emulation)
- Attest every ~10 minutes
- Auto-enroll for epoch rewards (1.5 RTC per epoch split among all miners)
Reward Structure
- 1.5 RTC per epoch (144 blocks, ~24 hours) distributed proportionally by hardware weight
- Vintage hardware earns more per epoch than modern (Proof of Antiquity)
- G4 PowerBook earns 2.5x what a modern x86 laptop earns
- Real hardware only — VMs/emulators are fingerprinted and receive negligible rewards
