Scan not working #143
Comments
Same issue on Samsung tab s6lite, lineage os, installed through f-droid. Granted all perms. Clicking scan just takes me to the system app info for this app and a popup saying "grant the necessary permissions manually" |
Hello, |
I am experiencing the same issue on my samsung A35 running android 14, as well. All time permission has been granted but no change. |
@strayd-N-Time do you have Google services on your device? Also might you check if there are any error reports in the journal (the third tab in the app)? |
I posted "same for me" above but since got it working. I seem to remember having to go into the perms and double check everything was "allow always", even though some were allowed it wasn't clear they were not always or background allowed until clicking through. I had since factory reset my device so the app was non longer installed. I just did a clean install and made sure I allowed everything from the setup wizard pop-ups and it worked first go. I suspect I denied GPS last time. Still LineageOS (Android13) F-droid with no google apps. |
TBH I didn't have a chance to test the app without Google Services as I don't have such a device with me. It should work theoretically as I don't rely on the Google API, but if you have more information about the problems I'd appreciate that. In case there is no GPS available, the app should send a notification with a special warning about that, and if the all-time location is not granted it should continue scanning now but in case of error, the app will report the location permission as a possible reason. |
As I say, its working fine for me now, and I don't have any Google Services, so I think you can say that's no problem. I made sure to accept ALL perms. I just uninstalled and reinstalled, this time I deny GPS. It ask me a second time and I deny again. Now I am back to the "wont scan" position:

I just installed the app. I gave all permissions. When I try to scan the app asks for another permission. I turned off battery saver. Advice would be appreciated. Android galaxy a14, current version
