During investigation of #1425 I found that converting a project to sloeber project for a project that does not contain a .sproject file nor a sloeber.cfg file in a workspace that has never seen a sloeber project will fail.
This is because to convert a project to a sloeber project when no platform/board is known the default platform/board is used.
The default platform/board is the last one used.
As no last one has been used it is null
causing a problem

Work around
Create a sloeber project using the sloeber project creation wizard with the platform/board of your choice.
Convert the project to a sloeber project
No need to close the projet nor the workplace

selected
