PLATFORM IO to ARDUINO IDE

Hello,

I have a strong aversion to PlatformIO; is it possible to use Arduino IDE instead?

The project is built on the Arduino framework, so Arduino IDE is theoretically possible but not recommended for this project. Here's why:

Challenges with Arduino IDE:

• SparkMiner uses 12 different board configurations with per-board build flags (display drivers, pin definitions, SHA implementations)
• The build system relies on PlatformIO's platformio.ini for conditional compilation flags (-DUSE_DISPLAY=1, -DHARDWARE_SHA256=1, etc.)
• Post-build scripts automatically create factory/firmware binaries for OTA
• Library dependencies are version-locked for reproducibility

If you just want to flash pre-built firmware (no code changes), you don't need PlatformIO at all — use the ESP Web Flasher or esptool to flash the pre-built .bin files from the Releases page.

If you want to modify the code, PlatformIO is a one-time install:

1. Install VS Code
2. Install the PlatformIO extension
3. Open the SparkMiner folder
4. Click Build — PlatformIO handles all dependencies automatically

It's much simpler than manually configuring Arduino IDE with all the required libraries and board definitions.

Hello,

I have isolated the libraries for the ESP32-S3 and the related configuration for Arduino IDE v2.x. I had to downgrade the ide core and a few libraries; I managed to compile successfully, but there's an issue: according to the log, the hashrate is 270 KH/s, but the pool reports only 2 KH/s.

I'm now using VS Code with PlatformIO—luckily, YouTube has tutorials, HAHAHA!
