i got the following file to work with my s3 dongles

my average work reported is 278KH/s

the screens remain blank with backlights on the brightness setting did not do anything. led is not lit.

I have this as well.
Trying to add support for Heltec Wireless Paper, runs on ESP32-S3. Most of the time the device does not appear online in pool monitor even tho it reports ~280KH/s in Serial or Display.
Had this happen both with display or headless.

From time to time some shares go through and reach the pool and i see it online for a short time, but with low H/s and it's uncommon.

There could be several culprits, for now i suspect high latency as i have ~230ms on this device for some reason.

Ill take a look at the HW and SW Sha implementations and release a fix. This happened on CYD boards when I initially started developing so hopefully it'll be a quick fix.

Another bit of info might give a good data point for a goal. Nmminer gets 380-550kh/s out of these dongles.

Thanks for the report! The esp32-s3-mini_factory.bin firmware is designed for the Wemos/Lolin S3 Mini board, which is a headless configuration (no display support). That's why the screen stays blank.

The LilyGo S3 Dongle has different hardware (display controller, pinout, LED) that requires a dedicated board configuration.

Could you provide:

1. The exact LilyGo model number (e.g., T-Dongle S3, T-Display S3, etc.)
2. A link to the product page or datasheet

With that info, I can look into adding proper support for your board with working display and LED.

In the meantime, the mining itself is working correctly at 278 KH/s - you just won't have visual feedback until dedicated support is added.

Thank you so much for wanting to look into the LilyGo dongle, I have tried to find as much as possible information.

For me it's the LilyGo T-Dongle S3, which can be found here:

It's the single ESP32-S3 Development Board With Screen 0.96 inch ST7735 LCD Display and not the dual version, which is also on the same page to complicate matters a bit :)

The blank screen is expected with the firmware you're using — the S3 Mini firmware is for the Lolin S3 Mini which has no display (only an RGB LED). It's working correctly at 278 KH/s, but there's no screen driver loaded.

The LilyGo T-Display S3 dongle uses a different display controller and pin configuration. Could you clarify which exact LilyGo S3 dongle model you have? There are several variants:

1. LilyGo T-Display S3 — 1.9" ST7789 LCD (170x320) — SparkMiner has support for this in development builds but it may not be in the release firmware yet
2. LilyGo T-Dongle S3 — 0.96" ST7735 LCD (80x160) — would need a new board configuration

If you can share the exact model name or a photo of the board, I can point you to the right firmware or work on adding support.

In the meantime, the S3 Mini firmware will continue mining fine at ~278 KH/s — you just won't have screen output. You can monitor via the serial console (USB at 115200 baud).
