This is a very "out there" suggestions, given that opensource and usage tracking normally does not go hand in hand.
It could potentially be interesting at some point, to implement some form of usage statistic to measure eg. how much the exporter gets used. Of course in the most anonymous and transparent sense, with the option to opt-out.
The documentation website and github already has tracking and provides some numbers (currently ~500 unique users every two weeks on github, ~250 monthly on the doc site)
