So, I want to install Icecast on a Raspberry Pi 5, to stream audio to a Roku unit running Roku Media Player (RMP). Bear with me here; I'll get to the SWYH part in a moment. Before I bought a Pi and starting fiddling around with Icecast, I decided to install Icecast on a Windows 11 desktop to test it with Icecast. To make a long story short, the Roku RMP doesn't see the Icecast stream (other Windows computers I have in the house play the Icecast stream just fine, so I know it's working). Then I had the idea to install SWYH (on the Windows desktop, of course), and test it with the RMP. To make another long story short, the RMP detected the live MP3 stream from SWYH and played it just fine.
So what's the difference between SWYH and Icecast streams? Is there something I can tweak in the Icecast configuration file to get it to work with the RMP? I tried adding the .mp3 filetype to the stream name, but that didn't make any difference. If I had my choice, I'd simply run SWYH on the Pi, but of course there is no version for the Pi . . .
My apologies if this is the wrong venue for such a request, but I couldn't find a user forum for Icecast that looks like it's been used recently.
Thanks in advance,
Ken

Made a little more progress on the issue. It turns out that the Roku Media Player will open an Icecast stream by placing the stream URL in a playlist and making the playlist accessible to the RMP. According to Roku, however, the playlist must be on a thumb drive, meaning the RMP will not recognize a playlist made available through Windows Media. If you're using a Roku unit that lacks a USB port, you're out of luck . . .
