Thank you for making an amazing program!
I just downloaded the simple-install exe file (v3.7.1).
Is there an option to use a local LLM model, or is it only allowed to use OpenAI, Claude and Gemini?
For data security purposes, I need to use a particular local model, so it would be great if that was an option.

You're welcome! I'm happy someone is using it.

Local LLMs is high up on my to-do list!

I'm currently hard at work porting all the functionality from the old version(s) to the new version. Currently, and a little confusingly, there are three versions:

1. Supervertaler Classic (latest version = v2.4.1, available as an .exe release)
2. Supervertaler_tkinter (latest version = v3.7.7, v3.7.1 is available as an .exe release)
3. Supervertaler_Qt (latest version = v1.1.2; no .exe release available yet)

Eventually, there will only be one: Supervertaler_Qt. I created the initial versions with tkinter GUI framework, but soon realised I should have used the more powerful PyQt.

Hi there, just wanted to say that Local LLM functionality has been implemented. It's still quote rough, but it works! See:

Hi Michael,

• Has the document analysis feature (in order to then generate custom prompts) in the old version of the tool definitively been replaced with the chat-style window, or will that feature be included in the new Qt version as well later on?
• Is xliff import on the to-do list (i.e. direct xliff support, not via bilingual table export from other CAT tools)?

Hi Lieven,

To answer your two questions:

(1) Yes, you now load a project (can be a monolingual file, Trados/memoQ/CafeTran bilingual docx, or Trados .sdlppx package), and click:

Prompt Manager > AI Assistant > Analyze Project & Generate Prompts … and a prompt will be automatically generated:

However, to be honest, I find I am still getting better results when asking ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude to generate a prompt (which I then use in Supervertaler) in their respective online chat interfaces.

(2) xliff import/export is definitely on the to-do list!

PS: I am currently working on Trados package import + Trados return package export (.sdlppx) / .sdlrpx)!
