i am having issue setting up local SMTP
i get the error: Self singed certificate
normally i use it with port 25 no tls no ssl no user or pw

You are correct this should work. I'll look into it. But the better solutions anyway is to use NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS. See the readme.
