Autofill functionality in browsers fails to operate when the placeholder is anything other than an empty string.

If the placeholder is valid, autofill won't kick in. But if you set it to empty, autofill works, though the address might get cut off.

I was able to replicate this as well.

I'm hitting a related issue where there doesn't seem to be a way to disable autofill. Autofill seems to simply fill the underlying input, obviously without selecting any google places object. I'm also using custom styles, so autofill looks really bad and forces the user to clear the input if they've autofilled any other fields on the same page.

Looks like react-select exposes inputProps as a way to pass down props like autoComplete down. I see some references to people using inputProps with the google-places-autocomplete package, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.
