Migrate away from Google APIs set to "Legacy" status (and that eventually will be deprecated)

Per this Google email sent on Jan 28 2025, the Places API, Directions API, and Distance Matrix API are now in "Legacy" status. Eventually they will be deprecated, but no date has been set (and 12 months notice will be given).

From this Google documentation, and the variables referenced in this source code (e.g., offset is used when the new API uses inputOffset instead), it appears this library uses the old APIs and would therefore need to migrate.

+1, any new API key won't work anymore with the library resulting in apiNotActivatedMapError error.
Legacy places API seems not to be supported anymore. Unfortunately typical google way of doing things

Looks like Google completely blocked legacy api now. Anyone have a quick fix or work around?
