Points for manually created journeys?

Right now, if you check into a manually generated journey, you don't get any points for the journey.
Considering that many services are still missing in Transitous and considering that replacement services aren't being updated regularly, I think you should also receive points for manually created journeys.
I understand that the idea behind not giving points for manual journeys is to prevent people from creating fake journeys in order to reach a higher rank in the top-list, but I think if people want to fake journeys, they'll just check into existing trips which they don't actually take.
I'd be interested in other people's opinions on this, because I think this might be helpful

So the question is what is the proposed point "tariff" for manual journeys - should it be 1 point universally? One per 500km? 100km?
Giving points just like with working scheduled trip categories will not really be great, as some might tend to miscategorize the transport mean (like night train instead of S-Bahn)

Yes, that's a good point.
Maybe 1 basis point for every manual checkin, so there is no difference between the categories for manual checkins, but the 1 point per 10 kilometres rule could still apply for manual checkins.
Also, if this causes any problems, manually created journeys could also be tagged as manually created so that other users can identify whether the journey was manually created or from the Transitous data. Also, users who create trips manually could also be asked to provide a link to a timetable e.g. so users can understand if it's a real trip.
These are just some of my ideas, I don't know how hard it would be to implement them
