Firmware and flashing.
https://github.com/TweetyDaBird/qmk_firmware
QMK's guides are a lot better and more complete than what I can write, please refer to those (Or watch a Youtube video). https://docs.qmk.fm/#/
Start with the basics.
- Work step by step and check one thing at the time. Trying to fix all errors at once is never helpful!
- For most build related problems, start by unplugging the USB cable and diagnose before plugging things in again! Leaving something powered as it is behaving erratically usually means you end up damaging things worse in the end.
- For a split keyboard, get each hand working on its own first, then move on to connecting them.
- Never plug/unplug the TRRS as the keyboard is powered/connected to USB, as this can damage things.
If your keyboard isn't shown as connecting/able to flash, its most likely solder related.
- Double and triple check soldering to find bad solders, or short-circuits.
- Double and triple check that all things are oriented the right way, and the controller is in the right row of pins, etc.
If your keyboard are connecting via USB and can be flashed, make sure that both hands are flashed with identical firmware!
Having different firmware on either side can give you all sorts of strange behavior that can be hard to diagnose.
The build guide isn't matching the look on my PCB, or not matching my expectation.
The highest version number applies! If you PCB has a higher version than the notes in this guide, it's very likely an updated and refined version, and as such its markings apply instead of the build guide. If it has a lower version number, and the guide is saying something other than the markings, the guide has either been updated to fix an issue with the PCB/PCB markings, and then that will be explicitly stated, or the guide is incomplete (Sorry, this happens!).
If all else fails, ask questions, I'm happy to help.
Unfortunately though, since this is a DIY build, weather you have purchased a kit or sourced the parts yourself, please realize that this comes with no warranty, expressed or implied, and that all mistakes and extra costs for fixing them rests solely with you.
