When I click on the first tweet of a thread I see this tweet and then all comments made by other people on this first tweet.

Expected / hoped behavior : when I click on the first tweet I would like it to be followed by the messages of the same author to be able to see the whole thread of tweets uninterrupted by comments of random users.

Here is how it would look (screenshots from Tweetbot since version 4).
First image is from my timeline.

Following images appear after I’ve clicked on the timeline to show me the whole thread posted by the author

This is the current behavior of Twidere which is less user friendly and prevents from seeing the thread easily (you need to scroll a very long time with no visual clue)
This is what is showing mon after I’ve clicked on the first tweet that was in my timeline.

What about branches that get created when people comment individual tweets of the thread?

Maybe a toggle to see them or not ?
Or you click a second time on any individual tweet to reveal those comments

Interesting implementation in the app called Fenix.
First you see a result like in Twidere X. Then you can click a menu to show the thread.

Maybe small icons to indicate that an individual tweet of the thread has (new) replies.
In general collapsing threads into "one big tweet" makes it easier to read, especially with the reverse chronological order.
So removing big icons and indicators of threads like "1/2" "1)" and so on would help a lot.
