plugin does not return json data

Installed plugin according to docs, configured wp and Zabbix. Goes following error on any item:
Preprocessing failed for: ... . <meta name="viewport" con...

1. Failed: cannot extract value from json by path "$.plugins.active": invalid object format, expected opening character '{' or '[' at: '
   ... etc
