Distraction-Free YouTube is a browser extension designed to enhance your viewing experience by removing unnecessary content from YouTube. This extension helps you focus on the videos you want to watch by hiding distractions like Shorts, recommendations, and comments.

Features

  • Hide Home Page Recommendations: Eliminates all recommended videos from the YouTube home page, allowing you to focus on your subscriptions or search results.
  • Hide Shorts: Removes the Shorts section from the homepage and sidebar, preventing distractions from short-form videos.
  • Hide Comments Section: Disables the comments section on video pages, allowing you to watch videos without the temptation to scroll through comments.
  • Hide Sidebar Content: Removes subscriptions and trending videos from the sidebar to streamline your viewing experience.

Installation

For Chrome

  1. Clone or download this repository to your local machine.

    git clone https://github.com/abhishek-shivale/Distraction-Free_YouTube.git
  2. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/.

  3. Enable "Developer mode" in the top right corner.

  4. Click on "Load unpacked" and select the folder where you cloned the repository.

For Firefox

  1. Clone or download this repository to your local machine.

  2. Open Firefox and navigate to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.

  3. Click on "Load Temporary Add-on" and select the manifest.json file from the cloned folder.

Usage

Once the extension is installed, it will automatically start hiding unnecessary content on YouTube. Simply enable the extension to enjoy a distraction-free YouTube experience.
