[Bug]: Unknown locale en-US, falling back to en when syncing or bank syncing #4374

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

What happened?

I am running client and server versions v25.2.1 and see the following in the broswer console when attempting to bank sync. Also while writing up this issue, it seems to log the unknown locale error when doing a server sync as well. I did see this error mentioned in a closed bug related to reports, but I haven't interacted with the report function yet, so didn't think it was related.

This looks like it happens when first loading the Actual Budget site, and then consistently happens when clicking the Sync button on the top right of the page.

That happens on just regular usage. It doesn't cause any problems with how Actual functions.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm brand new to the app and was trying to determine if this was causing bank syncing to not pull in new transactions. I am coming from nYNAB and was a user there for 13 years, so I am adjusting to Actual but love the concept and approach so far.

Simplefin only updates once a day. I don't know if that is the issue you are seeing. If that's not it I recommend reaching out on discord for tech support

And the sync in the top right is syncing the budget, not syncing with bank sync. You need to use the bank sync button on the account page for that
