boards.txt specifies the TRRS variant here:

ArduinoCore-samd/boards.txt

Line 914 in 576d627

adafruit_TRRStrinkey_m0.build.variant=TRRStrinkey_m0

The directory under variant all lower case which prevents the Linux IDE from finding the board.

Thanks, patching boards.txt s/variant=TRRStrinkey_m0/variant=trrstrinkey_m0/ works for me.
