KiCAD ver 6.0.2 is not supported

Writes that the version is unsupported.

I have a question - does this plugin only work with PCB or does it support SCH as well?

The error disappeared after updating kiCAD. Nothing happens when pressed

The minimal required KiCad version is 7.0.0 - KiCad's PCM (plugin and content manger) should not let installations for older versions. It probably could work with <7 but I draw the line for easier maintenance.
KiCad's Tools->External Plugins and plugin icons work only with pcbnew, eeschema (schematics) is not supported.

If nothing happens when plugin icon clicked you can check if there is anything in plugin kicadgit.log file.
It is created in plugin installation directory (location will depend on your system) - you can open it with this button:
