plug-in's button does not show in editor toolbox

I am using KiCad 8.0.3, but I had this issue since version 7.0.0.

same here , will have to manually use Git for now.

Is it listed in Tools->External Plugins menu?
Are there any errors in Preferences->PCB Editor->Action Plugins?

I initialy believed I had the same issue. Though upon investigation, Plugins only look to work in the "PCB Editor", Not the "Schematic Editor". This is a KiCAD thing not under the control of a plugin developer. This may solve your issues too.

Now I need to figure out how to get the window to open when clicking the button ;)

when executed, plugin creates kicadgit.log file in plugin directory. The path of plugin is platform dependent, it can be checked in preferences:

If executing plugin gives not effect (no error popup, no git gui) and there is nothing wrong in log file, then problem must be somewhere in here

you could add logger to this file to troubleshoot.

I think I found my problem. The problem is I simply thought this was Kicad global Git function not just for the PCB, when reading the tool tip, you have for when you go to install it says PCB. When I go to the PCB I do see the icon. Sorry for the confusion.
