Replace scalar-only sub-graphs with Composites #1225
We should consider adding a rewrite that replaces scalar-only sub-graphs with
Composites. This should result in much quicker compound scalar computations, since it removes unnecessary call/thunk execution overhead.Originally posted by @brandonwillard in #1217 (comment)
