Roland SoundCanvas support

Please consider Roland SoundCanvas support, I.e. SC-55. This is the type of synthesizer that the composer (Eric Heberling) claims to have worked with for both Arena and Daggerfall (partial):

What did you record with ?
The TES used an "orchestral" palette. I mainly used the instruments offered by General MIDI. However, I did use a Roland Sound Canvas, even though few players had anything close to it at the time. Inevitably, I had to convert them to FM Sound Blasters, etc. All the songs suffered from this. Especially the arrangements that depended on the timbre of the GM samples. The ones that I had reinforced with counter melodies did better.

For posterity's sake, SC-55 support would be appreciated.

This part of the audio could use some improvement. I think someone asked for libADLMIDI a long time ago too. Whatever is picked should work across all platforms easily.

It's a CLAP plugin that provides access to the excellent Nuked SC55 emulator. It's used by dosbox-staging to enable soundcanvas output and it works very well. See here:

I'm not that knowledgeable about MIDI but I know this engine has to support reading XMI/XFM files from Arena and provide a stream of PCM samples to OpenAL Soft. WildMIDI has been doing this for years but it isn't perfect, there are some notes it plays staccato that should be longer, etc..

I don't completely understand this CLAP plugin. There is a CLAP header file in a separate repo and you need a ROM file from archive.org? It doesn't seem trivial to add this.
