Keep track of cart

Items will automatically disappear from the cart when it went out of stock and I need to manually check what is missing. Is it possible to use the script to track what is missing from the cart?

This might get too difficult, but if I could somehow mark the most important items in my cart that if they are removed, the script stops.

USE CASE
I need salad, i'm primarily making the order to get my greens, but they also go out of stock super quickly. If I could tell script not to run if the salad is removed, and/or alerted to this, it would be amazing.
