just wanted to start a thread to report out on what happened at SciTech 2024 related to our small subcommittee...
Subcommittee Report-Out
I wasn't there in person and called in remotely during the AIAA DEIC meeting on Tuesday 6PM-9PM (EST). During the review on subcommittees I talked to the following slide.
Position Paper
It sounds like our next primary step should be the Position Paper detailing
Definitions (of DevSecOps & related terms and concepts)
Value (of implementing this concept)
Resources (added by me, but I think curating a list of available resources is within our purview and would be useful in this paper)
GitHub for Collaboration
I later talked to the next slide as I discussed this GitHub collaboration site and made a pitch on how we should be adopting it across the DEIC. I offered to set up more repos for other subcommittees as well as give training and help to anyone interested in learning how to collaborate this way.
I think it was well received and I've already heard that people are headed this direction... more to come on this!
