Destination table gets reset on incremental sync with Amplitude as source

Hello,

We have a connection that uses Amplitude as the source and postgres as the destination and every time a sync is run, the table loses any custom column we had added manually. Interestingly, indexes remain as-is but its just the custom column (in our case an auto incrementing id column) that gets removed. I've seen in documentation and other forums that an incremental sync is not supposed to reset the table. Am I missing something here?
