When translations of a DNA sequence occur for degenerate codons, e.g. NNK, the color of the amino acid X is not consistent.

Specifically, when the NNK codon is the first codon in the translation, the colour will change randomly with the movement of the mouse.

In addition, reverse translations or mixing N(ATGC) codons are inconsistently labeled as blank codons instead of X

The X codon should not change color.

How to reproduce

  • Using a sequence that has an NNK codon present
  • Select the NNK sequence
  • Translation changes color with mouse movement when it is the first codon
