I've been lurking on this thread in the net without comment,</segment>

seems a good time to make one. </segment>

toward feminist critics of science (such as my colleague Sandra Harding)
suggest something fairly obvious to me. </segment>

much too monolithically. </segment>
<segment id="7" parent="4" relname="span"> Already several years ago, Malcolm Ashmore
noted a variety of approaches within the Sociology of Scientific
Knowledge group</segment>
<segment id="8" parent="7" relname="elaboration"> - so much so that it should not be called a "community."</segment>
<segment id="9" parent="5" relname="sequence">
Then along came the Social Construction of Technology.</segment>
<segment id="10" parent="5" relname="sequence"> STSers in 4S are
still more diverse. </segment>
<segment id="11" parent="5" relname="sequence"> FULLER has identified "high" and "low church" STS
groups. </segment>
<segment id="12" parent="18" relname="span"> And there are various fellow travelers like myself - </segment>
<segment id="13" parent="12" relname="elaboration">
philosophers, historians, anthropologists, etc.</segment>
<segment id="14" parent="20" relname="span">
Furthermore, many of us - like TRAWEEK in her comment a couple of weeks
ago - who try to work positively and constructively with various groups
of scientists and engineers.</segment>
<segment id="15" parent="14" relname="background"> (That doesn't, of course, automatically
exempt us from criticisms by GROSS types.)</segment>

In my opinion, if the thread is going to continue constructively,</segment>

need much more nuanced uses of the acronym STS.</segment>
