Hi @zhouh406, Indeed, you need to have installed 2020 and 2025 if you want to use the script. AEDT 2024R1 was the last version that automatically performed the kernel conversion from ACIS to Parasolid. |

I have ANSYS 2025 installed on my computer, and now I need to open an HFSS file created in the 2020 version. I attempted to convert the file format by following the Kernel conversion section in the PyAEDT tutorial. I did successfully use the Kernel conversion function, but it seems to require both the 2020 and 2025 versions to be installed on my computer for the kernel conversion to work. I have two questions:
1.If my operation is correct (i.e., both versions must be installed for kernel conversion), is there any alternative method to open the 2020 version HFSS file in the 2025 version?
2.If my operation is incorrect (i.e., the 2025 version alone is sufficient for kernel conversion), where did I go wrong?
Thanks for providing an explanation.
