How to resolve schema directive conflicts?

I have a use case where I want to pull schemas from multiple sources. When I run my generate script I'm seeing:

[FAILED]         Unable to merge GraphQL directive "key". 
[FAILED] Existing directive:  
[FAILED]        directive @key(fields: _FieldSet!) on OBJECT | INTERFACE 
[FAILED] Received directive: 
[FAILED]        directive @key(fields: _FieldSet!) repeatable on OBJECT | INTERFACE
[FAILED]         Error: Unable to merge GraphQL directive "key". 
[FAILED] Existing directive:  
[FAILED]        directive @key(fields: _FieldSet!) on OBJECT | INTERFACE 
[FAILED] Received directive: 
[FAILED]        directive @key(fields: _FieldSet!) repeatable on OBJECT | INTERFACE

I looked through the docs and I don't see an obvious way to get around this issue 😢 , had anyone encountered this before and has an idea of how to solve it? The only lead I have right now is this, but I have no idea how to wire tis up on my codegen.ts file
