What does maintaining a plugin entail?

I asked in [Discussions](https://github.com/asdf-community/infrastructure/discussions/265) and got no response...

The plugin for the Mill build tool needs to be updated, and it needs a maintainer, and I could probably help but I want to know what I'd be committing to.
