Our Vision

To provide a forum for collaboration for software engineers across government

  • To learn and to teach
  • To share ideas
  • To have some fun

Our vision helps us fullfil our Objectives.

How are we doing this

  • Engaging with the community on UK Government Digital Slack - in the #software-development channel
  • Running monthly virtual lean coffee sessions
  • Developing our GitHub repo
  • Looking to run more themed events
  • Hosting virtual software engineering meetups
  • We have a small facilitation group that is doing some of the initial setup

Do you want to help facilitate the group ?

Drop an email to Andy Poole or David Heath or Shaun Hare and one of us can add you to the facilitators group

We want you to be part of this - why not get involved?

  • Signup to our email mailing list on mail chimp - You'll need to signup with your government email address - just sign up below. You will get a welcome email and will then be added onto our mailing list of events going forward.
  • Check out our GitHub Repo
  • Existing members check out our Discussions (must be a member of our github organisation)

How we use GitHub

We use github to manage our group - once you sign up to our mailing list you will (assuming you have given a GitHub id) be auto enrolled on our organisation. You can then see meeting notes and join discussions on the discussion link.

Pull requests are welcomed for this site see the readme on our GitHub Repo for more details.
