Date values not being shown in edit mode

I have added this to a form, and can capture date values, which I can see via a Query. However, when I reopen the form, the data value is empty - it is not redisplaying the previously captured date.

I guess since I am the first to raise this, there must be something wrong in the way I am using the field, since this otherwise appears to be a fundamental flaw.

Any suggestions?

I had the same issue and the turn off the new boards hub preview feature could solve it.
