Sync in bpm beat counter?

I am not sure if this would even work but.
My use case is to sync the es2 red to my dj mixer master aux send.

I want the es2 to sync the bpm played by my 4/4 beats.

I have already tried filtering for the kick drum on sync "step 1" global setting. It works sometimes but not consistently, and for instance when there are double kick hits, it goes bananas.

So my question is, is there a way to put a digital processor between the sync in and the ext slave trigger, that could do more sophisticated measurements on correct bpm based on each 1/4th or 3/4th for instance?
