Responding to myself briefly: no, you can’t use MariaDB with Fizzy. Instead, use MySQL, preferably the latest version available. |

Hi there!
I’m currently testing Fizzy as a possible replacement for several tools we use at my company, such as Jira, Trello, and GitHub Projects.
I’ve deployed a Fizzy instance on my personal server running Debian 12, with Ruby 3.4.7 and Rails 8.2.0.alpha, backed by MariaDB 11.8.4 from the system packages. The deployment setup is fairly traditional (“old school”): a systemd-based environment, no containers.
While deploying and testing Fizzy, I ran into a couple of issues:
I’m not sure whether these are known issues, configuration-related, or something I might be missing, so I wanted to share my experience and get some guidance.
There are a few other areas where Fizzy also breaks in my setup, but I didn’t want to list everything at once. I can provide more details if that helps.
Thanks a lot for the time and effort you’ve put into developing Fizzy, and also for taking the time to read and respond to this discussion. It’s truly appreciated.
