Need a Better Screenshot Tool

At the moment I am using a combination of scrot and imgur-screenshot.

imgur-screenshot is fine but scrot:

• looks horrible;
• doesn't show the cross cursor;
• doesn't freeze the screen; and,
• sometimes results in jagged edges.

It has to go!
